FAQ
WHY SHOULD I SALT/BRINE IF IT HASN'T RAINED OR SNOWED?
There are still the unexpected hazards (such as shady micro climates, dripping vehicles or taps, subterra drainage paths, freeze and re freeze independent of precipitation conditions)— ones you don't see, but are still liable for. See our blog post on this issue.
Why does snowcleared use brine?
Brine is less corrosive than salt, and costs the same. However, the application lasts longer (3-4 days vs 2-3 days with salt) and it doesn't get carried inside. Win-win, in our opinion.
WHAT ARE THE SERVICE TRIGGERS?
Automatic daily deicing if temperature drops to or below 1 degree Celsius & Automatic plowing with the accumulation of 1 inch. If the conditions are bare and dry we will not service, Snowcleared instead will monitor conditions remotely and provide on-site inspections if needed.
Where do you pile the snow?
Custom service and snow-pile maps are created specialized with client input from both pre-site inspection and post-season reviews.
CAN YOU PLOW WHEN 2-3 INCHES OF SNOW HAS ACCUMULATED?
This is a common question. Several inches of unplowed snow, in combination with melting and precipitation, can result in compact icey conditions. Our approach would be to apply 3-5x more product to try and address the problem and in the worst case scenario we have to wait until it melts. This is why we are on site at our 1 inch trigger point, ensuring that your property is taken care of on time.
