Always Be Prepared
Rob Thibault
As many of you know, last year British Columbia experienced ran unexpected cold snap and unanticipated snow falls.
To put it in perspective:
The Lower Mainland experienced “the longest cold snap in 32 years.”
Vancouver set a new high for snowfall, beating out the previous record set in 1946.
Abbotsford received a record high of snowfall too, beating out their previous record set in 1957.
School was cancelled, kids were thrilled, and daily de-icing became as necessary as sunglasses are in the summer. There was only one problem - there was no salt to be found. All across the city, fights broke out as people struggled to get the necessary salt supply to keep themselves safe.
People lined up for hours to get free salt from fire halls, before they too ran out, prompting some to talk to social media, describing the situation as a #saltcrisis. Even the Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Walmart, Rona, Lowes, and Superstore ran out of salt!
TBO’s Snow and Ice Management did not run out of salt or road brine, even maintaining a healthy stock all season.
Thankfully, TBO clients could trust that our trusted snow removal and de-icing team planned ahead. Not only did we have enough salt and brine to keep all of our clients safe, we were also able to provide other snow and ice removal companies AND one of the largest local municipalities with road salt, because their suppliers had run out!
Call us today and count on TBO’s Snow and Ice Management Team to always be prepared this winter.
